**Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role**: We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Advisor Risk Reduction in our Tairāwhiti Community Risk Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking the delivery, supporting, and advising of risk reduction functions and activities across both the built and natural environments.
- This role will include a range of work including regulatory compliance, education and stakeholder engagement
- Responsible for driving risk reduction projects to support and deliver on district objectives
- Work closely with district fire brigades and communities to develop and enhance their understanding across the 4 R's of emergency management.
This role will also require being a part of an on-call roster, ensuring 24/7 availability across the team. Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you will bring to the role:
- Commitment to working with Māori as tangata whenua and experience working with hapū, iwi, Māori entities/organisations and other diverse communities of Tairāwhiti
- Building collaborative and influential working relationships with a wide range of people and organisations, whilst utilising your excellent communication skills
- The ability to plan, implement and deliver on priorities with a proactive approach, in a semi-autonomous and independent environment, within set timeframes
**To be successful in this role, we expect you will**:
- An ability to understand and convey complex and technical information to a wide range of audiences
- Hold a current clean driver's licence (essential)
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

The salary range for this role is $98,411 - $109,345 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.Ko wai mātou - who are we?
