Permanent 0.5 FTE position available for a Senior RN or experienced Nurse Educator - Registered with the NZ Nursing Council and current APC Mō te tūnga | About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the surgical cluster Nurse Educator team working in Neurosciences (Ward B8). Ward B8 is one of our surgical wards at Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury - Christchurch Hospital which specialises in Neurosurgery and Neurology. As the largest inpatient Neuroscience facility in the South Island it is a busy medical and surgical environment caring for a complex patient group with a diverse range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions. We have an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse to join our team as Clinical Nurse Educator. Currently working as a senior nurse, your passion and clinical expertise in this area will place you perfectly as a specialist resource for the team, providing valuable support and education to new and existing staff and nursing students. A confident communicator, you will easily establish quality relationships and ensure exceptional ongoing service delivery for our service users. Your skills will include those of facilitator, change agent, consultant and leader. **This role will see you**: - Providing leadership in clinical practice. - Acting as a resource for new and existing staff, and students. - Assist the Charge Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist to continue the nursing education focus in pursuit of clinical excellence. - Promoting nursing research and evidence-based practice. We are looking for someone who is committed and passionate to succeed in this role and who as a positive role model will work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care and improved patient outcomes are attained. The Nurse Educator facilitates and coordinates clinical learning activities and nursing professional development programs. They provide systematic guidance to reduce the gap between nursing theory and practice and are key to improving the quality of nursing care and enhancing the patients' level of satisfaction. You will provide nursing leadership and act as a resource for both new and experienced staff. Clinical coaching and point of care learning will be an emphasis of the role. Your skills will include those of facilitator, change agent, consultant and leader. This role facilitates the progression of current education resources, as well as the development of future strategic growth.
