The Principal Rail Engineer (Track) is responsible for providing consultancy and engineering services in the Rail market in the ANZ region. The role will be responsible for project technical delivery, supporting design management and project management, supporting positioning and winning projects involving a range of services. The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects. The role will support management of the Rail team, in terms of team technical development and growth, building design capability and supporting the growing the rail portfolio. Key to this role will be the interface with GID delivery centres in order to improve delivery capability to meet targets. Additional responsibilities include: - Lead and deliver technically excellent designs and consultancy services - Drive business development and be responsible for work winning, identify the next opportunities and support the win of opportunities - Develop and maintain strong key client relationships, act as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients - Represent the Rail team at key thought leadership events - Collaborate closely with client management team to identify emerging opportunities with clients - Deliver projects on cost, on time, and resulting in client satisfaction - Support and provide design management functions on projects - Maintain compliance with Jacobs QA procedures, including the deliverables review QA process - Be a mentor and lead the facilitation of the technical development of more junior resources to meet market requirements - Engage with in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching. Promote safety culture within the organisation and with our clients - You will support your performance unit to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationships in order to maximise the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people **Here’s What You’ll Need**: - Appropriate qualifications (e.g., Degree in Engineering) - Extensive experience working on projects within the rail engineering sector - Solid exposure and in-depth knowledge in rail engineering and knowledge of related disciplines. - Demonstrated ability to working collaboratively with other members of the Transport engineering sections, providing input to project works and tender bids. - Strategic and innovation mindset.
