Health NZ Te Whatu Ora - Waitaha Canterbury & Te Tai o Poutini West Coast are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Transalpine Protective Security Manager. In this role, you will lead the security function for the Canterbury & West Coast Health Districts, ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, premises, and assets.

The Transalpine Protective Security Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing security provisions across both Canterbury & West Coast HNZ facilities. Working closely with senior managers, clinical stakeholders, staff and the national protective security team, this role encompasses leadership, risk management, planning, operations, quality, and training management responsibilities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the security service for both districts, ensuring effective security measures are in place.
- Contract manage outsourced security services and maintain an effective level of security across all facilities.
- Undertake leadership, risk management, planning, operations, quality, and training management responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and maintain a risk framework and policies to protect organizational assets.
- Provide expertise in security risk analysis and technical systems.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**

**Essential**:

- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in action.
- Accreditation to a security professional body such as ASIS or The Security Institute (UK).
- NZ Certificate of Approval (CoA).
- 15+ years in the security industry with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Working knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures in the health sector and NZ Protective Security Requirements.
- Broad knowledge of security risk analysis and technical systems.

**Desired**:

- Security-related degree or recognized security qualification/certification.
- Previous experience in the health sector.
- Experience in Crisis Management and Business Continuity Planning.
- Working knowledge of security systems such as Gallagher access control and Milestone CCTV.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience partnering with unions.
- Experience in training/teaching adults.
