Job description:
We are seeking an Assistant Manager in an entry level role to oversee operations within budgets of our local business unit based in East Tamaki being part of a small yet dynamic team in a packaging distribution company operating nationwide. The role includes overseeing operations management, general administrative & staff requirements in our business unit.

The responsibilities also include implementing formulated strategy, managing people and establishing policies & implement decisions taken by the General Manager & being productive, while ensuring profits are on the rise, ultimately, helping the company to grow and thrive.

Responsibilities include:

- Order processing, organizing dispatch & overseeing general operations.
- Control budgets and optimize expenses
- Ensure employees are motivated and productive
- Oversee day-to-day operations
- Follow Set Goals & designed strategy for business development
- Set policies and processes
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
- Monitor & improve operations and financial performance
- Direct the employee assessment process
- Prepare regular reports for management
- Ensure all compliance & health and safety regulations are followed
- Provide solutions to operating issues

**Requirements**:

- Some background in similar role
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Strong analytical ability
- General business process knowledge
- Some knowledge in planning and budgeting
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

**_Benefits: _**
- 20 - 30 hours week, Monday to Friday (Occasional Weekends)
- Pay rate of $21.20 - $23 per hour depending on experience.
- Close-knit, small team with opportunities for growth.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual

**Salary**: $22.00 per hour
