**Key Accountabilities**:

- Completing initial assessment and subsequent re-assessments.
- Planning Nursing care.
- Delivering and delegating planned care.
- Accurately communicating and recording care requirements and health status.
- Re-assessing and evaluating planned care as required.
- Participating and contributing to care review and communicating with relevant health professionals.
- Advocating on behalf of resident.
- Providing resident, relatives and significant others with timely and pertinent information.
- Consulting with residents and/or family / whanau on issues relating to the resident and their care.
- Prioritising, directing, and monitoring care staff activities.
- Providing informal training as required.
- Supervising the care staff (Health Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses).
- Replacing staff as needed in consultation with Manager / on call Manager.
- Providing feedback to Unit Manager and relevant others anything that will affect the day to day operation of ward / unit and untoward events.

**Workplace Health and Safety**:

- Consistently act as a role model for safe work practices.
- Ensure that all incidents and accidents are reported in accordance with CHT policies and procedures.
- Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, relevant legislation and regulations and CHT’s policies and procedures.
- Attend and actively participate in team health and safety meetings.
