Contact is transforming its business with a data-first focus on operational excellence, enabling our team to do their best. Delivering this transformation will require Contact to strengthen its technology, data, and delivery capabilities, adopt new ways of working and shape its culture for greater agility, innovation, and customer obsession.

As the Data Engineering Technical Lead you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure, pipelines, and systems. You will be the technical product owner for our data platform, and you will:

- Lead the data engineering practice, providing technical guidance and mentorship for a talented group of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Provide guidance to those in the data engineering practice to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and processes for optimal operational performance. Nurture and grow the DevOps mindset in the practice.
- Implement and maintain scalable and efficient data storage and processing systems aligned with our strategic roadmap.
- Drive adoption of data engineering best practices, ensuring compliance with data governance standards and our architectural patterns.
- Stay updated with advancements in the field, trial and implement innovative solutions to enhance our data infrastructure and capabilities.
- Build and develop relationships with the developers and users of the data platform, ensuring feedback is considered in development of the platform roadmap.
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders, including data architects and technical product owners, to contribute to data architecture and modelling standards, ensuring data consistency and integration patterns across systems.
- Lead and coach others to troubleshoot and resolve data infrastructure and day-to-day operational issues, working closely with the team to diagnose and resolve technical challenges.

As the Data Engineering Technical Lead your expertise in data and cloud engineering, strong leadership skills, and passion for innovation will be key in delivering our vision for an amazing data experience at Contact.

- High level of initiative and self-management skills; proactive, ability to cope under pressure and determine priorities for yourself, the squad, and the practice.
- Strong listening and interpersonal communication skills

**The type of experience you’ll bring to nail the technical side of the role**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in data/infrastructure/software engineering or similar disciplines, with expertise in designing and implementing large-scale data processing systems.
