**About the Role**

An opportunity exists to join our Northern region public health nursing team as a **Community Health Care Assistant.** We have 2 part time roles available.

The primary purpose of the role is to support the broader team in delivering community-based health services, with a focus on improving health outcomes by addressing disparities and ensuring equitable access to care. This role will actively contribute to creating inclusive and culturally responsive environments, enabling all members of the community, particularly those from marginalised or underserved populations, to receive the necessary support and resources to achieve optimal health.

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

**About you**
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- NCEA Level 2
- Current Full Driver's License
- First Aid Certificate
- Certificate or diploma in health or community work
- An understanding of health issues children and their whanau experience
- A basic understanding of health equity
- Previous experience in a health or health/social care/education related environment
- Knowledge of Child & Family Services
- Knowledge of school and pre-school settings
- Data Entry experience
