**Planting and Propagation**

**Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Garden Maintenance**
- Weed, prune, and trim plants and hedges to maintain garden aesthetics and health.
- Install plant support structures and protective devices as needed.

**2. Lawn Care**
- Prepare lawn areas by spreading topsoil, planting grass, and laying instant turf.
- Maintain lawns by mowing, trimming, weeding, fertilizing, and watering.

**3. Tree Care and Maintenance**
- Assess trees to evaluate their condition and determine necessary treatments.
- Prune trees and lop branches using chain saws and handsaws to ensure tree health and safety.

**4. Pest and Disease Control**
- Spray plants and trees to manage pests and prevent diseases.
- Remove diseased plants and trees to protect surrounding vegetation.

**5. Seedbed and Plant Propagation**
- Prepare seedbeds and growing sites for various plants, including flowers, shrubs, hedges, and trees.
- Propagate and plant trees, bushes, flowers, and bulbs as part of garden and landscape development.

**6. Landscape Design and Construction**
- Select appropriate materials and plants for various landscaping projects.

**General Duties**
- Inspect gardens and outdoor areas regularly to ensure they are well-maintained and visually appealing.

- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality gardening and landscaping services.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Proven experience as a gardener, landscaper, or in a related field.
- Knowledge of plants, trees, and gardening techniques.
- Familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and saws.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to garden design.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and drawings.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Certification or training in horticulture or landscaping.
- Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly gardening practices.
- Experience with pest and disease control methods.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Auckland City, Auckland: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Gardening: 2 years (required)
