**About this role**

This is a key role for the Council, where you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to support housing and other urban development initiatives in Lower Hutt.

You will be the key interface between the Council and the development industry, Kāinga Ora and Urban Plus Ltd. You will support the delivery of housing and redevelopment activities within the Infrastructure Acceleration Fund catchment area.

You will work with a range of stakeholders including iwi, developers, landowners, central government agencies and potential investors.

**About you**

To be a successful in this role you will bring:

- Extensive experience in the housing and development sector
- Relationship management skills
- Experience dealing with developers, planners and other relevant stakeholders
- Sound understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi in relation to property
- Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
- Excellent written communications skills
- Negotiation skills
