**About the role**

To be considered for this role, you will possess a strong background in platform engineering, grounded in a foundation of computer science with a proven track record of developing and operating secure, robust, and highly maintainable platforms. You will be a strong proponent and practitioner of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and familiar with all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirements and design to development, testing, and operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate in a cohesive team of high-performing engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the platform.
- Consistently demonstrate high standards, attention to detail, and a propensity for action.
- Clearly and effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Address non-functional requirements, protect the platform and associated data, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure the platform meets and exceeds the needs of all stakeholders.
- Identify and eliminate incidental complexity, increase clarity and maintainability.
- Seek out requirements, identify risks, and anticipate outcomes.
- Lead, advise, and mentor less experienced team members.
- Provide technical leadership and develop, evolve, and evangelise a technical vision for the team.
- Incrementally and continuously improve the platforms you work with to create measurable business value for our clients.

**Required Technology-Related Experience**:

- Solid experience in Infrastructure-as-Code practices, configuration management tools, and DevOps.
- Solid experience in Public cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- At least 5 years of experience in creating CI/CD pipelines for performance optimisation, scalability, monitoring, and debugging.
- Continuous Deployment and Kubernetes templating tools.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in working with Microservices and Container Platforms.
- Solid experience in container-based technologies, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, Operators, Helm.
- At least 7 years of experience in working hands-on with databases and data processing.
- Good working knowledge of at least one system language, including Python, Rust, Go, etc.
- Structured, hypothesis-based root cause analysis in complex systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to concisely articulate and convey technical concepts.

**Qualifications**:

- A strong foundation in platform design, operation and automation.
- A thorough understanding of modern infrastructure design patterns and cloud computing paradigms.
- Demonstrable experience with modern automation tools and frameworks.
- Experience in complex commercial environments, using Agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices (automated testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, etc.).
- A high degree of adaptability and an ability to assimilate new information quickly.
