Solicitor (Part-time)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced solicitor to join our in-house legal team. This is a part time position (32 hours per week) and based in our Thames office.

Reporting to our Legal Counsel the role is varied; from public law to property & commercial law, disputes and litigation this role is a generalist role touching on almost every aspect of local government law. You will be preparing agreements, licences, property instruments and giving legal advice for a wide range of projects and processes. You will regularly engage with our external lawyers and consultants and provide training and legal support to council's internal staff.

Ideally you will be someone who is mentally agile, and who can think outside the square to find innovative solutions. You will have a personality that is able to develop strong working relationships and still have a laugh or two. You will be self-starter who can prioritise and operate under pressure.

You will have a current practising certificate or the ability to hold one, an eye for detail and outstanding organisational skills. You will be able to communicate complex legal concepts in a manner which can be understood and acted upon. In-house experience and/or local government experience would be an advantage but not a necessity.
