We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Regional Manager - Inspectorate to drive significant change and enhance the effectiveness of our operations in your designated region of the South Island. As a key member of the Inspectorate leadership team, you will lead a team of inspectors while building and maintaining strategic relationships with key external stakeholders, driving performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Reporting directly to the Head of Inspectorate, Operations Group, the Regional Manager will play a pivotal role in leading your region's inspectorate function. You will manage a diverse team, ensuring their work aligns with WorkSafe's strategic priorities while influencing change within the wider health and safety system across Aotearoa.

**Ko tou ake mahi - What You'll Do**:

- Leading the operational delivery of the Inspectorate within your region, ensuring KPIs and performance standards are met.
- Building and maintaining high-profile relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry sectors, iwi, government agencies, and unions.
- Driving strategic and cultural change across your teams, leveraging data insights to evolve work plans and improve regional outcomes.
- Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with WorkSafe's overarching goals and government priorities.
- Ensuring consistent and efficient delivery of services, including maintaining financial oversight and adhering to operational policies and procedures.
- Managing significant regional operational challenges, escalating issues when necessary, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

- Proven experience in operational delivery, ideally within a regulatory environment, with the ability to lead and influence large teams and complex operations.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including industry leaders, iwi, and government agencies.
- Exceptional change leadership capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to lead transformation efforts that align with broader strategic objectives.
- Political and commercial acumen, with the ability to identify and escalate potential issues while navigating complex environments.
- A track record of driving high performance, fostering a culture of accountability, and improving team effectiveness.
