**About the role**
At the Gateway programme the cases we see can be incredibly complex, we are seeking an experienced Psychologist with proven experience in psychological assessment and intervention, working in complex systems, and providing services collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
You will be based at Tiaki Whānau-Child & Family Safety Service as a member of the multidisciplinary team and contribute to the health assessment and recommendations for Interagency Service Agreements. You will need to be flexible and adaptable with enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across disciplines.
The service hours at Tiaki Whānau are Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm, some flexibility will be offered for this 0.7 FTE position, the successful applicant is required to work Wednesday afternoons for the MDT meeting which is attended by all members of the team, and every 2nd Thursday afternoon when our team meeting occurs.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Assess psychological wellbeing, providing evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with paediatric teams for tamariki and adolescents in care of Oranga Tamariki
- Develop resources, educate, and support Gateway program staff
- Maintain effective communication and collaborate with various services
- Lead and develop the Gateway Program, supervise staff, and provide guidance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in relevant professional development and adhere to ethical standards
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will be/have:
- Proven experience in psychological assessment and intervention, working in complex systems, and providing services within multi-professional teams
- Commitment to biculturalism and working with diverse populations
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Clinical, Health or Child and Family Psychologist at a senior level is desirable
- Client-focused, self-reflective, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure, lead change, and work autonomously
- Registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board with a current Annual Practicing Certificate, and membership in a professional psychological organisation (NZCCP and/or NZPsS)
- Education in health psychology and trauma, experience with tamariki and adolescents in care, and a background in complex trauma management is desirable
