**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
We’re looking for a qualified Grade 2 Printer to be based at our Ellerslie print plant. You will be required to operate and maintain the press-based resources to produce NZME’s high-quality print publications in a safe and timely manner.

Cleaning and repairs of all machinery and equipment is also key to this role to ensuring optimum performance.

This is a vital role collaborating with our high-performing team to keep print operations running smoothly and adhering to health and safety standards at all times.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Adhere to pre and post run printing processes.
- Preparing all printing presses as per the layouts provided - webbing, plating up and setting up reel stands, folder settings.
- Operation of the press console to ensure publication meets commercially acceptable quality standards.
- Undertake a clean-up of the equipment following completion.
- Ensure operations are processed according to deadlines.
- Operate all equipment to commercial standards.
- Master all technical and production systems and adapt to new media techniques.

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Qualified printer, ideally skilled in web-offset.
- High speed, double-width press experience preferred.
- Cold-set and heat-set printing experience beneficial.
- Deadline driven newspaper production on varying paper grades (2+ years) is preferred but will train if necessary.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Comfortable and capable with heavy lifting where required.
- Mechanically-minded and capable working with heavy machinery.
- Forward-thinking, problem-solver, competent working unsupervised.
- Team player, collaborative, communicate well as part of a team.
- Coach and mentor other team members as required, contributing to the overall team culture.
- Highly compliant and familiar with health and safety standards is crucial to keep yourselves and team members safe.

This role is a full time, 40 hour per week role that requires shift work with every second weekend off.

You will be on a two-week rotating roster with a combination of day and night shifts.
