Applied Biosecurity Solutions (ABS) are looking to expand our team and would like to hear from people who have a sound background in ecology or environmental studies, practical field experience with pest plant / pest animal management, and a proven competency in operating motorised plant and equipment.

This is a hands-on, and physical role, not a lab-based position and we expect this would suit someone who is physically active, loves being outdoors, likes being hands on and seeing the rewards of a days work.

The role will offer plenty of variety and as such we will help you to develop your skill set by providing ongoing training, support, coaching and mentoring. You will need to bring an eye for detail and a willingness to roll your sleeves up to work as a team. Expect to be challenged by learning new skills and taking on new projects as you progress your career in a rewarding industry. This role will see you expand your skills outside of your comfort zone.

This role is full time 40 hours per week Monday to Friday and is based out of our Christchurch depot. Our team does travel across NZ to carry out specific projects and some away nights may be required from time to time.

- Have ecological, pest plant, pest animal, qualifications, or relevant field-based experience.

- Health, safety and environmentally conscious.
- Full NZ Driver’s license - preferably manual.

**It would an advantage if you have any of the following**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in botany, ecology, or relevant industry experience in pest plant management and removal.
- Grow safe Registered Chemical Applicator or similar.
- Experience with motorised and non-motorised hand tools.
- Off road driving experience
