As a Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless connectivity, stability, and reliability of systems as part of our digital transformation program. This includes testing across initiatives such as Content Business Systems (CBS), which underpins critical business processes and integrations with customer-facing digital platforms.

This role requires a balanced approach to testing — with manual testing as the foundation to uncover edge cases and validate user experiences, complemented by automation as needed.

You will be responsible for validating API integrations via checking Logs (via Postman, NewRelic. Soap UI or similar tools), verifying system-to-system data exchanges, and testing data migration across distributed systems.

By combining strong hands-on testing skills with API validation expertise, you will directly support the delivery of a modern, scalable, and high-quality digital ecosystem.

Your focus in this role will be
- Validate API integrations, system-to-system data exchanges, and data migration across distributed platforms including Content Business Systems (CBS).
- Validate vendor product as per the specifications and test cases.
- Design and execute test scenarios, test cases. Use any tool which is needed to ensure that content business system is deployed as per the test cases and acceptance criteria.
- Perform manual testing to execute all test cases and validate business process flows end-to-end.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to define test requirements, acceptance criteria, and ensure coverage of business-critical workflows.
- Create UAT test cases aligned to business scenarios and support UAT execution with stakeholders.
- Maintain the defect life cycle and do the reporting as per the test strategy.
- Participate in system integration testing across multiple services, ensuring smooth data and process flows.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, test practices, and reporting across initiatives.
- Collaborate with other technical teams - such as Integration, Data and Digital Teams.

**These roles are 12 month Fixed Term Contracts.**

**What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei**
- 5+ years of professional experience in Test / Quality Assurance. Experience in test automation is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Postman (or similar tools), API testing (REST/GraphQL), SQL and service mocking tools.
- Proven experience in system integration and data migration testing across complex, distributed systems.
- Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Jira Xray, Zephyr, TestRail) and defect tracking in Jira.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The following are nice to have skills:

- Programming skills in Python or other coding languages for test development
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Experience in Cloud - AWS

We have some strict timelines for this programme so the need to be available through Dec/Jan (outside of stats) would be beneficial.
