**Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
- Principal Stormwater Assets Engineer**

This role is to ensure Auckland Transport's stormwater assets are managed in accordance with sound asset management practices including providing asset management and specialist technical expertise to the Transport Networks team and the Chief Engineer.

This includes developing and managing specialist stormwater asset management contracts and professional service providers.

The purpose of the role is also to ensure that road stormwater asset management practices are aligned with international industry good practice.

**Key Tasks include**:

- Developing and reviewing road stormwater asset management plans, ensuring alignment with the AT's strategic asset management plans and policies.
- Developing and review of levels of service and forward work programmes to support asset management practices.
- Providing specialist expert advice and direction in relation to best practice management of road stormwater assets.
- Providing expert advice and guidance in relation to asset management technology, renewal and maintenance strategies and practices.
- Providing expert advice in the Regional Long-Term Plan and Annual Plan processes
- Leading specialist asset management advice, including asset inventory collection, risk and condition assessment, forward work planning, asset valuation and depreciation.
- Support the development and review of asset management practices, standards and specifications including advising on whole of life costs and risks.
- Developing and implementing asset management and business process improvement programmes and agreed innovation projects.

**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
- Minimum 10 years professional experience in roading or stormwater asset management.
- Extensive expert knowledge of asset management systems such as RAMM, or other relevant asset management systems.
- Stormwater asset management, including, levels of service, forward works programmes and budgets.
- Extensive knowledge of local authority asset management practices and statutory requirements.
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification in transport asset management.
