Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Future of Mail (FoM) Programme is a high-profile strategic programme of work to ensure mail continues to contribute to a sustainable NZ Post.
The primary focus of this role is to lead all Finance activities to support the FoM Programme and represent the Finance team as the Workstream Lead. This role will provide critical financial and commercial management capability to the Programme to support each of the Workstreams and provide robust financial and commercial analysis to support decision making. The role will take ownership of the financial model and financial reporting will be developed to show progress against the overall Programme objective.
This role will work closely with the Finance Business Advisory team to ensure alignment of planning assumptions, costing methodologies and allocation, and will provide input to the business planning process for all Mail-related activities.

**As the Finance Workstream Lead the role is responsible for**:

- Leading the strategic direction of workstream
- Establishing and managing workstream scope, timeline, budget and resources
- Managing workstream delivery and quality against workstream objectives
- Regular reporting to the Programme Director and Chief Financial Officer

The role will also be responsible for managing the budget for the Finance workstream as well as overseeing the finances for the whole Future of Mail programme including both capex and opex spend.
This role will be required to present analysis and insights to both the Future of Mail Advisory Council and Steering Committee.
Mōu - About you
You will be a senior business advisor with previous experience owning and delivering project or major workstream outcomes. You will have at least 10 years' experience as a consultant or senior business partner. Other key requirements of the role include:

- Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to solve complex business problems
- Sound experience in managing and influencing a diverse group of senior stakeholders and providing general business advise to senior managers and executives
- Experience in analysing complex problems and scenarios that feed into strategic decisions
- Demonstrated skills in business change, improvement and turnaround
- A finance or accounting degree (or similar tertiary qualification) and CA (or equivalent)

This is a high-profile role that will be both rewarding and challenging and offer plenty of complexity and ambiguity. You'll need to be agile, work at pace and handle pressure.
