**Where you’ll be working**: Thames Hospital Food Service

**The details**: Two permanent part-time positions available
- 17 hours per week - 1 x 8-hour shift PLUS 3 x 3-hour duties from 1645 - 1945
- 19 hours per week - 2 x 8-hour shifts PLUS 1 x 3-hour duty from 1645 - 1945

**Salary details**: Collective Employment Contract - E-Tu Meca - Step 1, $23.75 per hour - Step 4, $28.18 per hour

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills to join our 7 day a week dietary service team as a kitchen assistant.

The roster will include weekend and public holidays.

Duties include food preparation, meal service, food and safety hygiene and general kitchen duties.

**Mōu | About you**

**To be considered for this role, you need**:

- Excellent physical fitness to work in an environment with heavy physical demands - including frequent standing, lifting, in a humid and busy environment.
- Willingness to follow direction and carry out tasks in a timely efficient manner
- Ability to build and maintain positive respectful relationships with customers and team members
- Reliability with an excellent attendance record
- A current NZ driver’s licence.

An understanding of hospital kitchen functions, and previous experience in similar roles would be an advantage.

**Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service**

Thames Food Service provides around 60 meals 3 x per day to the
- Inpatient unit
- Emergency department
- Birthing Unit

Sperry Lane Café is open Monday to Friday for staff & public access to meals.

We also provide around 30 meals per day for ‘Meals on Wheels’ recipients.

Kitchen Assistants have three different hours of duty:

- 0700 - 1530 and 0900 - 1730 hours (both 8-hour duties)
- 1645 - 1945 (3-hour duty) - to deliver the night meal to patients and cleaning in the food service.
