About the role

The Central District Intelligence Unit supports New Zealand Police leaders and operational staff to prevent crime and harm through exceptional policing in Central District. Our mahi is used to identify opportunities to prevent harm on our roads, in our homes and communities, and to keep our people safe.

As an Intelligence Support Officer, you will be involved in informing decision makers, leading to safer communities across Central District: Manawatu, Whanganui, and Taranaki. You will do this by scanning both internal and external sources of information, collating and interpreting data, preparing intelligence products that inform and support prevention, intervention, and enforcement activities. There will be a requirement to regularly brief decision-makers.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Demonstrate understanding of the New Zealand Police 'Our Business' Strategy and the role Police Intelligence plays in it.
- Demonstrate your ability to maintain your quality of work under pressure and strict timeframes
- Demonstrate the ability to work well with a wide range individuals and workgroups
- Demonstrate your ability to present complex issues (written and verbal) clearly to a range of audiences
- Demonstrate an ability to be flexible with changing requirements that reflect a dynamic policing environment
