**A permanent 0.94FTE Associate Charge Nurse Manager position has become available in North Inpatient Unit, Te Awakura, Adult Inpatient Services, Specialist Mental Health Services.**
- The position is for morning and afternoon duties on a 4 on / 2 off roster pattern
- Clinical leadership role for an experienced registered nurse in Mental Health, with current APC that is scoped for mental health.
- Must either hold or be actively working towards a relevant post graduate qualification

This is an exciting step for a dedicated and motivated nurse who is eager to take the next step within clinical leadership. As a role model within the service you will find yourself engaging with nursing staff and members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective relationships are developed and maintained.

North unit is a 16 bed units within Te Awakura, that provides 24-hour care to tāngata whaiora (consumers) experiencing acute mental illness. The model of care primarily focuses on integrated multidisciplinary teams who strive to provide excellent care in the least restrictive manner. This is immensely rewarding mahi (work) within a dynamic and fulfilling environment to develop your skills. We pride ourselves on being inclusive with our consumers and their whanau. **Pehea | About You**

In this professional and clinical leadership role, you will effectively contribute to the ongoing development of nursing practice and the professional nursing workforce within the service. This role has a function that is both clinical and operational, therefore you will have excellent clinical credibility as well as an ability to ensure the operational objectives are carried out in line with the Canterbury DHB vision.

As a positive role model, you will be working collaboratively with the Charge Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and nursing staff to promote a high standard of consistent, professional nursing practice that is contemporary, and consumer focused. Along with your proven ability to lead, you will be an expert at developing and extending nursing practice, assisting with performance appraisals, auditing, quality improvement and providing overall clinical expertise and mentorship within the team that will enable them to continue to deliver a high standard of care.

In order to be successful in this role, the following is required:

- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope
- Extensive experience working within mental health, specifically recent acute inpatient services of 3 years or more
- Have a relevant post graduate qualification, or be on the pathway to securing one
- Possess a depth of clinical nursing knowledge and leadership ability
- Self-motivated, flexible and solutions-focused
- Be an excellent communicator and a natural people person
- Impeccable time-management skills and process driven
- The ability to work autonomously and within a team
