Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This opportunity is for an Occupational Therapist to join the Older Adult, Rehabilitation and Allied Health Community Teams (ORA). This position is 0.8 FTE or three days per week.
The Community ORA Team works with clients and their whanau who live in the Kapiti and Porirua area. This role sits amongst the two community teams working within our multidisciplinary team delivering occupational therapy assessments and interventions so patients can maintain function and wellness at home. This role is mainly therapies focused however you will work alongside a team of talented and energetic occupational therapists delivering both care under a therapies and rehabilitation contract. Our main client groups are older adults and patients with a rehabilitation focus. The region we work in is multi-cultural and as a team we are working to better service the needs of our Māori and Pacific Island communities.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
You will be part of the wider ORA Community Team of Allied health, Nursing and Medical colleagues. Collegial support with experienced clinicians is available and opportunities to collaborate is encouraged to improve patient outcomes. The team works with people 16 years and above with a range of physical disabilities, and age related or long term conditions to support their independence.
Moū - About you

**You will need**:

- New Zealand Occupational Therapist registration
- Current APC
- A clear understanding of the health needs of our Māori and Pacific Island communities
- Be able to undertake comprehensive occupational therapist assessments, and work collaboratively with others to provide integrated care.
