We are looking for a keen, motivated and self-driven apprentice to join our Horticulture Team.
In this role you assist with keeping the district’s many parks and gardens beautiful and get to work at Green Flag recognized Pukekura Park and the Fernery. Weekend work will be required in the Fernery and Pukekura Park
This is a 4-year full-time position where you will work towards a nationally recognized Level 4 Amenity Horticulture Qualification.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa matua
Complete both internal and external training requirements.
Ensure all health and safety directions/instructions are followed.
Carry out horticultural work as scheduled /directed.
To engage with the public and provide a quality customer service.
Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation.
Essential Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako
Demonstrate a willingness and a passion for taking your next step in a career in horticulture,
Have a high level of self-motivation to keep on track with your study requirements while working fulltime.
Drivers licence for relevant vehicle classes.
General fitness at a level to be able to cope with the demands of the job.
