We are looking for a Senior Park Ranger
- Partnerships to join the Western Sector Regional Parks Ranger team This role has a wide scope of duties, programmes & initiatives. Including but not limited to increasing community involvement in Regional Parks through volunteers, partnerships & licensees, community initiatives, hapu and iwi engagement.

It is your responsibility to build and develop meaningful relationships with the community & stakeholders. In addition to this, you will be responsible for championing the sector's Health, Safety & Wellbeing portfolio, policy and procedures management, coordinating staff training and leading risk assessments.

As a senior park ranger a major focus of this role is to provide leadership for a team of park rangers by directing, motivating and developing performance, and modelling a culture of excellence and continual improvement, and contributing to our vision of a world class Regional Parks service.

You will work collaboratively with other senior rangers in the team to meet joint regional park outcomes, including in the fields of Conservation, Programmes and Recreation, as well as being adept at working within the Auckland Council whanau and its Councill Controlled Organisations (CCOs) to foster and further outcomes within your remit.

This is a truly unique role where you are able to connect with different groups and work on great projects.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

An appropriate tertiary or recognised qualification in parks, recreation or environmental management is a requirement for this position, as are excellent communication & proven relationship building skills.

Knowledge of park operations and ranger field work is highly desirable. To be successful in this role you will also be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety procedures in the workplace.

This position is based at the Western Regional Parks office at the Arataki Visitor Centre, however, you will be required to work across the western sector and support the Regional Parks network. You will be able to work weekends and public holidays as part of a rostered standby system. A current New Zealand Drivers Licence is essential as you will be travelling within the Auckland region.
