Furniture Maker **Work Location**: Auckland Region **Employment type**: Full time (minimum 30hours/per week, Tuesday to Saturday), Permanent role **Our pay**: $29.66-$32.00 per hour depending on skills and experience We are a construction company based Auckland We are now looking for 1 Furniture Maker to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people and will allow access into a reputable and experienced company. **Tasks you may carry out**: - Reviewing technical drawings, work orders, and sample parts to accurately determine specifications and requirements for each project - Measuring, cutting, and assembling wooden frames for bed bases and other furniture items using digital machines, hand tools, and power tools, ensuring compliance with safety standards. - Selecting and working with diverse materials, including timber, veneers, particle board, and synthetic wood, to achieve desired aesthetics and durability in furniture design. - Securing and attaching fabric, padding, and upholstery materials to enhance durability and maintain a neat finish on all products. - Inspecting finished products to confirm they meet established quality standards and specific customer requirements. - Following production schedules efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship. - Safely lifting and moving heavy materials, ensuring a well-organized and tidy workspace to promote a safe working environment. - Collaborating effectively within a team, demonstrating strong communication skills to facilitate smooth operations. - Exhibiting a proactive approach to learning new techniques and adapting to evolving production processes as required. **To be successful you will need to**: - Have at least one year solid relevant experience in the same industry, or - Have a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification or equivalent qualifications/certificates - Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions - Be physically fit and willingness to work hard - Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively - have "can-do" attitude Our goal is to inspire people more than managing them.
