Join Tower as our Platform Engineering Manager and embark on an exhilarating journey to craft seamless and rewarding experiences for both our customers and team members In this pivotal role, you'll captain our Azure platform, charting the course for our cloud voyage and guiding Tower's strategic initiatives to success.

**You can expect to be across the following**:

- Lead a talented team of Platform Engineers and DBAs to deliver Tower strategic initiatives
- Maintain through lifecycle management and nurture the Azure platform and databases, making use of new capability within the Azure ecosystem where appropriate
- Tightly manage cloud platform spend and resource allocation
- Ensure our platform is secure, current, available and performant
- Work with squads to determine activities and resources required to deliver initiatives
- Manage vendor relationships and consumption of SaaS services
- Develop strong relationships with delivery squads, product owners, project managers, architects, chapter leads, senior leaders and technology teams

**What you'll need**

You will embody a blend of visionary leadership and meticulous attention to detail, driving innovation while ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your passion for collaboration and continuous learning will inspire and empower your team to overcome challenges and achieve ambitious goals together.

**To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following**:

- 10 years in a senior leader role managing a hands-on operational and technical team.
- Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services Industry preferred.
- 5+ years managing and optimising consumption and spend in Azure.
- 3+ years managing vendor relationships and licensing obligations
- 2+ years working in an Agile aligned way
- Extensive experience managing Azure's cloud platform, optimisation and cost management including budget setting and forecast
- Experience running production systems on public cloud and managing hands on operational teams
- Agile ways of working, estimating, planning and execution
- Strong delivery capability
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts and ideas, as well as distributed cloud platforms like Kubernetes
- Strong troubleshooting skills, driving observability improvements
- Initiative prioritisation, roadmap planning and execution
- Excellent collaboration skill
