Engineering Manager
- Full-time
- Engagement type: Permanent - Employee
- Department: Vector Technology Solutions (VTS)
**Who we are**
We’re a team on a mission to revolutionise the way energy data is managed, accessed and used globally. The software we build aims to liberate the energy information crucial to energy innovation.
Through our strategy of delivering commercially valuable cloud native platforms that solve real problems right now, while primed for rapid evolution in the future, we work to deliver on our vision of creating a new energy future.
Our philosophy is to work together to bring together the best expertise both locally and globally, and to partner with other leading organisations, to push the boundaries of what is thought possible. We work on the global technology challenges created by energy decarbonisation, decentralisation, democratisation and digitalisation by codeveloping global energy data platforms in partnership with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
Our team values an attitude of determination, ingenuity, and resilience, combined with a positive and humorous outlook on life, even in the face of extreme adversity. We engage with our team, partners and customers alike, with humility and respect.
**About the role**
Vector Technology Solutions (VTS) began creating real-world solutions for Vector to enable a new energy future. We’ve since turned these into market-ready solutions from which the wider energy industry can benefit.
Use your software engineering expertise to directly address climate change, with a global focus.
The Engineering Manager ensures the software engineering team is capable and able to deliver on the vision and strategy for software development at VTS.
You’ll manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a productive and collaborative working environment. This includes recruitment, hiring, managing, mentoring, and providing professional development opportunities to software developers.
You will oversee the development, testing, deployment and support of VTS software products, and will work closely with team members from Product, Engineering, Delivery, Business Development and Customer Success to ensure that our product development aligns with market needs and business goals.
**Who are we looking for?**
- You’ll be an experienced software engineer, with a good understanding of AWS serverless technologies, SaaS development in general, and cloud-native architectures
- You’ll have a track record of leading, growing, managing and inspiring engineers and engineering teams
- You’ll have a sound understanding of the lifecycle of software development initiatives including monitoring, planning, development, deployment and operations
- You are experienced in implementing security best practices with engineering teams and for SaaS platforms, with an understanding of industry-specific compliance requirements and the ability to implement and maintain the appropriate processes
- You tackle technical challenges creatively and effectively and lead problem-solving activities, and are adept at making critical decisions under pressure and coordinating with the appropriate stakeholders and teams to achieve the right outcomes.
**What we can offer you**
We take pride in our vision and values, working together to create a new energy future. You'll be joining a dynamic company that provides the ideal career environment for individuals with high calibre experience and skills.
You'll be offered a competitive salary, a range of great benefits, and the opportunity to grow your skills and make a real difference in a supportive, high-performing team.
