Do you want to be a part of an experienced, tight knit and agile legal team that's part of a bigger legal services function? If so, become a Senior Solicitor for the Corporate and Commercial Legal team at Te Tari Taiwhenua Department of Internal Affairs. About the role This is a full-time, permanent Senior Solicitor role in the Corporate and Commercial Team, based in Wellington:

- giving commercial and contract law advice, contract review, drafting and negotiation
- working on complex projects, major procurement processes and all-of-government initiatives
- advising on corporate law issues like HR, Health & Safety, Privacy and Information Management
- providing legal assurance to Chief Executive, ELT and Chief Legal Advisor. Some of the areas and projects you'll be involved in include:

- Digital & technology -cloud strategy and policy development, digital inclusion, modernising digital identity systems, the Pae Hokohoko | Marketplace, contracting with major technology providers
- The National Library and Archives New Zealand - supporting collection and preservation of New Zealand taonga, including music, literature and artworks
- at least 3 years post-admission experience working on commercial and corporate law matters
- passion, proactivity and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with team and stakeholders

Organisational Strategy and Performance | Te Urungi helps the Department to define and achieve its strategic objectives. We provide advice and assurance to the Executive Leadership Team, and the wider Department regarding core aspects of good business management that underpin the Department's success. We lead strategic planning and performance reporting, the implementation of Te Tari Taiwhenua's Māori Strategic Framework, and we advise on legal risks, the performance of the governance, risk and assurance system, and portfolio planning and performance.
