With 4 kitchens and 2 cafes within the Whangarei area, we have a rare opportunity for a passionate, adaptable, and flexible Cook/Catering Allrounder who enjoys the variety of working across all these sites, which are made up of aged care kitchens, an industrial cafeteria, and a public café.

This is a fixed term 12 month position (30-40 hours per week) over a 7-day roster to cover team members when on leave and training days, so promises variety and challenge Travel to various sites is needed so your own transport would be essential. A competitive remuneration and fuel allowance is provided.

In this role no two days are the same - one day you are serving customers in a workplace cafeteria, the next day you are helping with food preparation and dishes in an aged care kitchen (and everything in between). To be successful you will need to love variety and be willing to do whatever needs to be done in order to make our customers smile.
- Understanding dietary requirements, allergies, and food control regulations,
- Covering meal services in aged care sites,
- Previous experience in food preparation, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
- Barista skills or willingness to learn would be an advantage,
- Operating Eftpos and POS machine with a smile,
- Being able to work safely in a commercial kitchen with large hot pots and trays,
- Being comfortable taking responsibility and able to work sole charge when necessary.
