**The Opportunity**
The Braemar Hospital theatre team are excited to recruit new Health Care Assistant roles to our team.

Working as part of our theatre team, the Health Care Assistant role is a critical member of the team, assisting with patient activities in the theatre environment under the supervision of our highly skilled Registered Nurses and Anaesthetic Technicians. This includes a variety of responsibilities from helping to position patients in theatre, to collecting blood products from the Blood Bank, to general housekeeping, and everything in between. This is an exciting and new opportunity where you can help to shape the Health Care Assistant role in theatre.

**To be successful in this role**:

- You will have previous experience in a Health Care Assistant or similar role, where you are comfortable taking directions from others and contributing positively to the team culture;
- You will ideally understand the operating theatre environment and demonstrate a willingness to work across a variety of tasks;
- Remaining calm and collected in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment is something you will thrive on;
- You will possess a can-do attitude, and a strong customer service ethos to ensure excellent customer service, to both patients and specialists;
- A NZQA Health Care Assistant Programme Certificate is desirable, but not essential;
- CPR/First Aid Certificate (or a willingness to participate in training to achieve certification);
- Eligible to work in New Zealand.
