**He angitūtanga | The opportunity**:
We are on the hunt for two Community Activators to join our Community Development team, to be successful you will need to have experience in:
- Initiating, planning and delivering to help evaluate key community events, activities and programmes that support the Council’s community development objectives as outlined in the Wellbeings Strategy and the Community Development Framework. Linking into our primary and intermediate age children, promoting a sense of pride, safety and community spirit.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with public, community groups and other identified stakeholders for the successful achievement of the Council’s community outcomes.
- Manage, monitor, and deliver innovative ‘community led, and council supported’ projects and activities that engage and benefit all areas of the community.
- Facilitate appropriate and innovative active community engagement across all sectors of the community, ensuring that youth perspectives and experiences are meaningfully incorporated.
**He kōrero mōu | About you**:
- 2+ years’ experience in a community development role or environment
- Degree equivalent qualification in Community Development or a related discipline
- Understanding of community led development principles and practice
- Able to understand and respond to changing business requirements
- Knowledge of Treaty of Waitangi, Te Reo & Tikanga Māori (preferred)
- Able to make decisions in an environment of limited resources and competing requests and priorities
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with people on all levels within Council and the wider public in a discrete and confidential manner
- Good consultation, collaboration and negotiation skills
- Experience in local government (preferred)
