Ngaa Kawenga| The Role
Corrections Officer, He Aapiha Whare Herehere.
- AARAHI - supervise people's daily routines
- MANAAKI - help people engage in their rehabilitation programme and attend appointments or tangihanga
- WHAKAKIPAKIPA - motivate and inspire people to make positive changes
- HAAPAI - monitor and manage health, safety and behaviours.
- MAHITAHI - work closely with whaanau and other key stakeholders
- MAHI - Be prepared to work 12 hour shifts across a 24/7 roster

**To be eligible you need to**:

- Have the right to work in New Zealand or have a work visa with at least 12 months remaining
- Have a full New Zealand Driver Licence (or be eligible to sit your full license within 3 months) or have a full International Licence
- To declare any conflicts of interest and all previous criminal convictions. Please note the Corrections Officer role is exempt from the Clean Slate Act
- Be medically fit for employment and complete a Medical Assessment and Physical Readiness Assessment
- Pass a drug test

We provide fully paid training, you will commence training on our CODP (Corrections Officer Development Pathway) which involves an initial week's induction onsite, 5 weeks at our National Learning Centre in Wellington then four weeks back at your site, before graduating and from there, the learning journey will be ongoing.
Utu Aa-Tau | Salary
- Starting salary $65,019 increasing as you achieve National Qualifications Level 3 ($69,697) and Level 4 ($75,213).
