**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Policy Advisor to join New Zealand Government Procurement, a branch within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).

Every year, government agencies spend around $51.5 billion on goods and services to support the delivery of public services and infrastructure - for context that's about 17% of GDP. We're not the ones doing the spending though. We develop the policy framework that guides procurement practice across government.

We are embarking on an exciting programme of work with a focus on achieving public value and how governments procurement activities can deliver economic benefits for New Zealand.

- Ability to lead complex policy and strategy work programmes - from policy development through to implementation
- Ability to undertake complex policy analysis and provide high quality policy advice
- Experience managing the delivery and landing of advice and tasks with senior managers, ministers and stakeholders
- In-depth understanding of the policy production process, including stakeholder consultation processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to influence critical decision makers such as Ministers and senior sector leaders, and drive change
- Strong knowledge and experience of machinery of government
- Must have legal right to live and work in NZ
