We are looking for class 4 and 5 truck drivers to work throughout the North Island.
Have a Clean Truck License.
No criminal background
Must be able to pass drug test
Positive can-do attitude
Love Maintaining your vehicle.
Good people and leadership qualities
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Committed to Health and safety.
Punctual and Reliable.
Be flexible and able to work to deadlines.
Be available to work overtime during weekdays and weekend, where required.
3-5 years experience
Physical fitness as some manual loading and unloading maybe required
Hiab and forklift licence preferred but not essential
Class 4 and 5 vehicle licence or its equivalence internationally
Be flexible to work weekends and public holidays
Have at least 12 months relevant work experience.
**Tasks would include but no limited to**:
Determining the destinations of goods and most appropriate delivery routes
Drive heavy trucks, removal vans, tankers and tow trucks to transport bulky goods and liquids.
Demonstrate safe and responsible driving at all times including but not limited to observing speed limits and signaling appropriately
Assisting with loading to ensure goods are arranged for ease of delivery and safely secured to avoid damage
Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
Verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries
Arranging and performing unloading operations
Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
Reporting vehicle maintenance needs
Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
Perform regular safety inspections on vehicle to ensure compliance with government and company regulations.
Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
Ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
Ensure Road user charges, Registration and COF are up to date. You will maintain log book correctly and in a timely manner.
Provide clients with timely deliveries
Ensure all necessary delivery and transport documents are approximately signed and dated
**If you are successful**:
You will be offered permanent full-time employment with a minimum of 30 hours per week paid
You will be offered a wage rate of $30-35 per hour depending on your level of experience
You will be offered work in one of the following locations in New Zealand : Northland, Auckland,.
You will be required to follow all advised health and safety regulations.
Potential relocation to other regions and/or work across multiple regions may be required and applicants for this position should have NZ residence/citizenship or a valid open NZ work visa.
