**We are recruiting for passionate part time and full time Support Workers in Manawatu**
**Who are we?**
NZCare Disability is a national provider of a range of support options for children, young people and adults who live with a physical and/or intellectual disability. Our team is our greatest asset and we are committed to employing and training the best people. NZCare is looking to put an energetic and motivated team together that will support tamariki in their own home. The team will provide a safe environment where tamariki can develop confidence, build friendships with peers and interact with others in the community.

**What does a Support Worker do?**
You support people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals by doing the things they want to do such as going swimming or attend sporting events, arts and crafts, movies or shopping - the list is endless Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support. This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily living such as personal cares, supporting with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills.

**Who are we looking for?**:

- Can connect and build a positive relationship with tamariki through provision of consistent support
- Can work with a team of professionals and provide support focused on behaviour change
- Have a desire to see tamariki develop skills that will increase his self esteem, self awareness, self respect and self management
- Have good engagement and knowledge of what is available in our Manawatu community
- Are passionate about tamariki's future including their hopes and dreams
- Have an ability to look beyond presenting barriers and provide experiences tamariki that will empower them to live the best life they can.

Whilst experience working with tamariki would be an advantage, it is not a necessity for those with the right attitude.
