**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
This is a full time, 12-month fixed term role.
- Plan and undertake direct control of regional pest plants.
- Manage contractors to achieve outcomes set out in the operational plan.
- Respond to customer enquiries around pest plants.
- Carry out site inspections to determine compliance requirements for Lower Waikato pest plant programme.
- Reporting, monitoring, and recording of data for the pest plant programme.
- Manage operational programmes with multiple stakeholders.
**Mō te tangata | About you**
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent customer focus.
- Previous experience in pest plant management.
- Have a high level of computer literacy skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently.
**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in pest management.
- 3-5 years of experience in pest management.

- We’re a friendly, approachable and a welcoming team. There are six biosecurity officers in the team spread across the region, so there will be a lot of support to help you find your feet in this role.
- Reporting to the Pest Plants Lead, you will work most closely with 3 other biosecurity officers in the pest plants team.
