Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Office of Pacific Advancement at Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau | Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is seeking expressions of interest for community representatives to join our Pacific Community Reference Komiti.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your voice, insights, and leadership to the development of AUT's Pacific Plan, a university-wide initiative that centres Pacific worldviews, aspirations, and community engagement across teaching, learning, and research.

As a community representative, you will work closely with the Office of Pacific Advancement leadership to contribute to the strategic direction of the university's Pacific engagement, ensuring that the voices of Pacific communities are heard and valued in decision-making processes.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare for and participate in advisory fono to provide guidance and advice to AUT staff tasked with developing AUT's inaugural Pacific Plan, ensuring community voice and aspirations are considered across AUT's future directions and activities in the teaching, learning and community engagement areas. These will be hosted at AUT's South Campus in Manukau and online (for those living outside of Tāmaki Makaurau).

- Strong connection to and understanding of Pacific communities.
- Individual competencies and expertise in areas of focus in Te Kete: AUT's Strategy to 2030, including local and global experience across community engagement, impactful research, and/or teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
