Our Macraes Flat Minerals Laboratory in East Otago has permanent Laboratory Technician opportunities available.

**Job Description**:
The Laboratory Technician is responsible in preparing and analysiing samples in accordance with the standard operating procedures in the laboratory to ensure a high service level is maintained. This involves weighing samples, digesting with various acids and making up volumetric solutions.
- Calibrate and use instruments such as atomic absorbance spectrophotometer, uv/vis spectrophotometer and carbon sulphur analyser to generate sample assay results.
- To ensure all activities are carried out with regard and recognition of Health and Safety requirements and personal safety
- Day to day upkeep of equipment and general housekeeping or workstations
- Project work.

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent timekeeping and good organisational skills
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Good computer skills, verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with others in a team environment
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment beneficial.

Additional Information

Good hourly rate, free bus to site, paid breaks, extra shifts at overtime rates, lifestyle 4 days on 4 days off roster (rotating days/nights).
