Based in Marlborough, Puro is New Zealand's largest grower of medical cannabis and is officially Australasia’s only organic medical cannabis grower, having been granted BioGro Organic status for outdoor cultivation at Kēkerengū. Dedicated to growing sustainably and organically, Puro are focused on growing premium and pure medical cannabis - indoors and outdoors - and have recently been named Cultivator of the Year at the 2021 Australian Cannabis Awards.

**About The Role**:
We have an incredible opportunity for a CEO to lead the expansion of this growth-focussed business to the next level. Reporting to the Chair and the Board, you will be working closely with the Managing Director who is externally focused.

An incredibly dynamic business with plenty of complexity, you will be focused on providing effective leadership for Puro to thrive in a commercial, profitable, and sustainable manner through a period of rapid growth and change, including:

- Developing and delivering on the business strategy set with the Board, with a focus on sales, capital projects and seasonal operations
- Enhancing our strong people culture during a rapid growth period and into the future
- Strong fiscal responsibility
- Ensuring compliance with all legislative, regulatory, licensing and certification requirements including for export markets
- Working alongside the senior management team to deliver strategic projects, to grow the business.

You will have:

- Executive leadership experience, in a highly regulated environment
- Incredible communication skills, known as a relationship builder, a creative thinker with skills in stakeholder engagement
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance, finance and performance management principles
- Experience in developing and executing successful sales and marketing strategy
- Tenacity, motivated to face challenges head on, with an analytical mindset and strong problem-solving
- Values-based, ethical decision-making and an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to be agile in a rapidly evolving business and industry
- A learning mindset, open to continual growth and development
- Cultural awareness of te ao Māori.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical or nutraceutical industries and prior experience leading high value primary industry business is desirable.
