Yard / Warehouse Helper

Universal Granite Limited is a wholesaler of natural stones and engineered stones. Our head office is located in Auckland. We are currently looking for a right person to fill the position in our Christchurch warehouse.
Position Requirements:
- No working experience required;
- No qualification required;
- Reliable and physically well to handle various yard works;
- Excellent communication skills;
- You need to have excellent time management skills to prioritize your daily works;
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Moving slabs inside and outside the warehouse. Inside the warehouse will be using the gantry and outside will be using the forklift;
- Help other drivers to load and unload truck for delivery;
- Checking delivery dockets prior to pulling the slabs and ensuring slabs are correct;
- Ensure slabs are with no defects or write down defects on report or documentation;
- Drive vehicle/forklift combinations to destinations in accordance with regulations and company procedures;
- Hook and unhook trailers from prime movers or lead trailers (B doubles) including maneuvering into place;
- Load and unload truck either individually or with assistance with or without mechanical freight handling equipment;
- Submit pre-trip Inspections and if required Vehicle Defect reports on truck gantry and trailing equipment prior to commencing shift;
- Ensure that all load documentation required to move with freight is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies freight when delivered;
- Maintain records required for compliance with relevant regulations;
- Carry out bench top cleaning minor fixing polish-edge;
- Maintain cleanliness in warehouse and outside.
