**Job Description**:
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
We are on the hunt for an Asset Manager to deliver all of Contact’s projects, engineering and maintenance management activities and services to the Stratford site (specifically the Taranaki Combined Cycle (TCC) power station and Stratford Peaker Plant (SPP)).
This manager will be responsible for ensuring their team delivers safe, reliable plant operations and maintenance activities in line with our Contact strategy and site asset management plan.
Activities need to be planned, scheduled and executed in a timely manner to ensure we optimise the cost and utilisation of staff and contractors performing project, engineering, maintenance and outage activities at the site.
This position is based in the stunning Taranaki region and reports into the Head of Generation.
Some of the key roles and responsibilities are;
- Lead, direct and motivate the team, including managing resources and budget, as well as planning for future succession needs.
- Contributes to Contact’s vision, strategy and overall direction by offering sound commercial advice on business issues.
- Contribute to the development of the Generation and Trading Asset Management Plan (GTAMP) and lead the development of the site Asset Management Plans (AMPs) in line with the GTAMP.
- Ensure business risks are managed through effective monitoring and review of maintenance procedures.
- Maintain and improve performance of all plant and equipment.
- Contribute to the development of HSE management system improvements and perform HSE responsibilities as defined in the relevant policies and systems.
- Ensure all staff and contractors working on the site are trained and competent to undertake the work to which they are assigned safely.

We are open to the skills and experience you bring. Prior experience in Asset Management would be great but we don’t expect you have an engineering background. The team you are leading has the technical capability so you can lean on them for support.
What’s most important to us, is that you have a strategic and commercial mindset, and are passionate about leading others and meeting customer needs. You will be a natural influencer and have a track record of leading high performing teams. You lead by example and are considered a pro when it comes to mentoring and motivating your team to achieve success.
You will be famous for your communication style and ability to inspire and take people on a journey - even if it gets rocky from time to time. You’re curious and skilled at identifying issues and offering resolutions. Your teams’ safety is a number one priority for you.
