Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi offers the highest standards of tertiary education from certificate to doctorate levels, including programmes for international scholars of indigenous studies. We are looking for an experienced senior academic leader grounded in Mātauranga Māori to lead the School of Iwi Development. You will
- Provide exceptional school leadership and support to all school staff.
- Ensure Iwi Development programmes are sustainable and effectively managed.
- Maintain and build relationships with whānau, hapū and iwi and other stakeholders.
- Based in Whakatāne.
- Previous experience in a senior academic leadership position.
- Knowledge of the NZQA framework and programme accreditation framework.
- A minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant field - with a doctoral degree _highly _
- Financial management, budgeting, and reporting experience.
- Experience leading and managing teams to surpass educational performance indicators.
- Research experience including evidence of active research portfolio.

With seven direct reports and a school team of staff, the position manages all resources to ensure strategic and operational plans are achieved to guarantee sustainability of iwi development programmes.
