**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

Lead Auckland Transport's communications, engagement and stakeholder management of one of Auckland's most transformational infrastructure programmes.

This is a key strategic role, leading and overseeing the delivery of communications and engagement strategies and activities to support transformational development of Auckland's public transport network including rail network upgrade, improvements in the city centre and completion and opening of City Rail Link.

The role is critical to ensuring CRL and associated programmes are successfully positioned as city shaping and transformational activities to support Auckland's growth.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing a single point of senior accountability for best practice, joined up and consistent delivery across all communications and engagement resources working on rail network development.
- Creating a consistent drum beat of proactive stories to help Aucklanders understand the benefits of change as well as the impacts.
- Key stakeholders and wider public are well informed and champion developments.
- Advocating for customer outcomes.
- Providing strategic advice to influence and manage reputational risks and opportunities.
- AT receives timely and well-considered strategic advice and plans to support operational and infrastructure activities and programme teams and senior leaders see you as a trusted strategic advisor.
- You are seen as an exemplar and leader in continuous improvement and innovation in AT's approach to engagement and communication to ensure high quality work from a high performing team.

**Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?**
- 10 years' + experience in communications and/or engagement roles.
- Leadership of a team in a complex organisation, programme
- Experience working in the public sector and local government landscape, including interagency programmes.
- Deep and proven experience delivering communications and engagement for high profile and complex environments.
- IAP2 accredited.
- Experience working in transport or infrastructure planning and delivery, ideally operational opening of complex and high-profile infrastructure.
