**Daily tasks and responsibilities**:
As a Meat/Seafood Department Assistant, you will assist in the daily operations of the department. This will require you to assist in maintaining the operational standards of safety and quality while supporting a large team of qualified Butchers. You will be required to deliver superior member service. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Inspects and assembles equipment during department setup.
- Work display case and rotates merchandise to high standards.
- Processes large quantities of product using automatic wrapping machine.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Labels merchandise, and puts wrapped and labelled merchandise in display case.
- Operates meat grinder. Follows proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished merchandise.
- Cleans and sanitizes area throughout the day. Performs duties to comply with health code.
- Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidlines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment requred.
- Complies with the 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification and all Safety Policies required by the warehouse and the department.
- Assists in other departments for the warehouse as necessary.
- Provides and ensures prompt and courteous service to members, employees and vendors.

**Position requirements**:

- Member Service - Exhibits a professional demeanour toward others. Ability to identify problems, find solutions and make sound decisions that reflect Costco's Code of Ethics.
- Self-Motivated - Well-organised and able to prioritise, multi-task and adhere to deadlines while working efficiently and independently.
- Team Player - Willingness to perform tasks assigned by supervisors and to assist others as needed.
- Flexibility - Adjusts positively to change in direction or assignment. Willingness and ability to comply with new programs, methods, practices and procedures.
- Please note that this position is a cleaning/wrapping position. Ability to lift heavy items routinely and ability to work closing shift is essential.
