The Role
Here at Datacom, we are seeking the best of the best in the security space to join our highly acclaimed and rapidly growing physical security team. As a Security Genetec Technician, this role will see you responsible for IP based access control, intrusion detection, video management and analytics installation and support services. This will include writing as built documentation, build expertise and experience to complete physical security projects based on the Genetec Unified Platform. This role has a primary focus in the area of Genetec Implementation and support services, with involvement in design, and solution creation.
This role is also expected to perform in the building, installation, delivery, documentation and support of physical security solutions services to our customers. There is a requirement provide some support coverage under an on-call roster to cover 24 x 7 support services for our customer’s environments which will see you rostered on-call one week in every month.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging with clients to gather requirements and/or to discuss technical solutions to their security and or other business issues.
- Implementation of security solutions utilising solutions from Genetec, Panasonic, Axis, Vivotek, IpsoTek and other related security products.
- Implementation of Security projects including access control, video, license plate recognition and video analytics.
- Support of existing security solution sites.
- Respond to 24 x 7 support calls.
- Attending security product training and passing the relevant certification exam.
- Ensure code of conduct and guidelines required under NZ PSPLA is adhered to at all times.

The Person
We are looking for a self-starter to assist in opportunities, deployments and support. Most of all you will be a motivated team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to constantly strive for better. You will need:

- Five plus years of security implementation and support experience
- Current security industry and product qualifications
- Customer support skills for CCTV solutions up to 3rd Level Support
- Cabling installation
- At height work
- Security solution builds, configuration and installation
- Thorough understanding of technologies solutions offered by the team
- Certification in one or more of the areas listed above
- Video Management
- License Plate Recognition
- Access Control
- Video Analytics
- Related security solution products

NZ PSPLA Security Technician registered or equivalent in other country
