Pharmacy Technician

Are you a qualified Pharmacy Technician? Here's a rare opportunity to **join the dispensary team at MercyAscot.** You'll be based at Mercy Hospital and this is a **permanent 0.6 FTE role working 3 days per week 8am - 4:30pm.** The days you work are flexible, as agreed however participation in our Saturday roster is required.

Our surgical specialties include: Orthopaedic/Spinal, Colorectal/Gastro, Gynae, Urology, Neurology, Oncology, Plastics, ENT/ORL, Head & Neck, and Cardiac/Vascular. Our patients are both adults and children.

**The role**:
Reporting to our Charge Dispensary Pharmacist you'll be part of a team delivering excellence and value in pharmacy services to **internal and external customers**. You'll support our pharmacy operations including ward and theatre medication stock management, dispensing, retail sales and general dispensary and administrative duties.

**The person**:
This position requires a high standard of Pharmacy Technician practice and to be successful in this role **you will need to have**:

- A qualification recognised by the NZ Pharmaceutical Society - Level 5 Certificate preferred
- A minimum of 2 years New Zealand experience in a busy community or hospital Pharmacy
- Competency in compounding
- Experience with RxOne (LOTs) or a similar dispensing system along with basic ability in using Microsoft Office programmes
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A solutions focussed approach to customer service with great problem solving skills
- A valid NZ driver's license - as some travel to Ascot Hospital may be required
- Self motivation, and be accountable, efficient, accurate, meticulous and a real team player
