Applications are invited for two permanent, full-time Advanced Emergency Medicine Registrar positions based at Nelson Hospital, New Zealand, working 80 hours per fortnight. Applicants need to be Advanced Trainees registered with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

Te Whatu Ora (Nelson Marlborough) is a 185 bed general hospital located at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. The Emergency Department (ED) currently sees over 31,000 patients per year and is accredited for 6 months of Rural/Regional training by ACEM. The case mix is varied and covers the entire spectrum of emergency medicine including trauma and paediatrics.

You will join a highly motivated and experienced team that includes seven emergency physicians and 5 other experienced ED senior medical officers, dedicated nursing staff and allied health.

Some non-ED runs may be available and include Cardiology, Orthopaedics and General Medicine.

There will be emergency roster shift patterns - AM, mid, PM and night shifts plus weekend shifts.

Applicants need to be Advanced Trainees registered with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

All applicants must hold valid registration or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
- Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccinations as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public._
