Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We have a fixed a term contract nursing position available within the Pacific Planned Care team for 3 months to cover parental leave. There is a possibility of extending the contract beyond 3 months.
We are looking for a Pacific nurse to join our highly functioning team within Te Toka Tumai to ensure Pacific people who utilise health services are supported to get through surgery in a timely manner. It is also crucial that we ensure care pathways mitigate avoidable, unjust or unnecessary barriers caused by the health care system.
The Pacific Planned Care Navigation team works closely in partnership with the surgical services and other specialities at Te Toka Tumai. We provide clinical education to Pacific people and advocate on their behalf where necessary.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

**We are looking for a Pacific Registered Nurse with**:
- A current NZ Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) who has a passion to better health outcomes for Pacific people.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in the either the Community or hospital setting
- Has Pacific cultural competency
- Can speak a Pacific language
- An ability to build relationships with both clinical and non - clinical staff and contribute regularly to leadership meetings.
- Possess a “can do” attitude that can work with and challenge the system to affect equitable change
