We are searching for a dynamic, go-getting **Stargazing Guide** to come in and make their mark. Positive and upbeat by nature with genuine charisma and a natural ability to lead both small boutique tours and large groups, this is a development opportunity that will ensure your star keeps rising.

Come and join our team of guides who provide informative and entertaining commentary on the spectacular southern sky to our guests. Tours last up to 3.5hrs per evening, the rest of your time will be working with the Guest Services team.

**To be considered for this role you will need**:

- Previous experience as a Stargazing guide, hosting both indoor and outdoor shows, with experience of sharing the Southern Skies with guests
- Good technical knowledge and know your way around a telescope. Previous experience with dark matter software would be advantageous but not essential
- Good knowledge of the basic astronomical concepts such as what stars are, the constellations of our Southern Night sky, Moon phases, the Big Bang, and the scale of our Solar System
- Highly effective interpersonal communication skills, leading to positive interactions with hotel staff, management, and guests
- The knowledge and experience to produce high quality work in a consistent and reliable manner in support of Hermitage’s standards and processes.
- A confident and collaborative personality with a working style that encourages client, customer feedback and demonstrates a high level of professionalism at all times.
- The ability to build, maintain and follow all safety processes in relation to each activity and tour
- A strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and reliability with the flexibility to work across different tours and products

**Further Information**:

- All applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
- Ideally applicants must be available for at least a 12-month period to be considered, due to the training required.
- A full, clean NZ driver’s license with a Class 2/4 and P endorsement would be very advantageous
- Aoraki Mt Cook Alpine Village Ltd provides on-site accommodation as part of our lifestyle package, the weekly board & lodgings rates include power.
- Due to the idyllic, isolated location of Mt Cook, you will need to be comfortable working and living in a remote location.
